Mechanical movements of bearings produce a wide range of ultrasound.

One of the main contributors to the extended pressure on the machines is the friction that produces the required ultrasound. Decibels (dB) and audio files are recorded. Further analysis is achieved through FFT and TS analysis which predicts the potential damage of the bearing. The number of revolutions (rpm) and balls of the bearing are required to locate the exact fault of the bearing.

The type of the rolling bearing (conical, cylindrical, barrel) does not afect any kind of mesaurements.

Ultrasound mesaurement processDemo 2 CMMS Bearing Chart Report

  • Baseline measurement is a basic one for each bearing, always compared against future mesaurements.
  • Charts on trending bearings’ life demonstrate the condition of each bearing. Two limits (dB) are set against the baseline measurement: on lubricant and faults
  • These limits export data to be used for future lubrication and maintenance programs. Lubrication is directly related to its identified status, not to the operating hours. This program helps avoid inefficient or excessive lubrication.
